2010

The day is approaching, 01/01/2010, the beginning of the new decade and new resolutions!  As always, there are so many ways to get you motivated and ready to make 2010 the best year ever!  Here is a quick summary of some of the aids that can help make 2010  THE year!

Weight Goals

Fatsecret.com: If you are looking for a way to track what you eat via your Blackberry or iPhone, a great application(app) is FatSecret.  What makes this app great is the online community which offers support and challenges.  So, if you are thinking about starting the P90X  workout, getting into a bikini for the summer or you want to kick the munchies, there is a challenge for you!

Special K Diet: The Special K Diet supports the New Year, New You theme.  There are more options now with the product line then when I tried it a few years ago.    When I tried the diet, the Vanilla Almond Special K  just launched.  It turns out, it was hard to find in the stores and pretty much dashed my plans with the diet.  I can’t claim I lost weight, but I have a few friends that say it is a good kick-start.   There is a buy one get one free cereal offer that can help start you off !  The offer expires on 1/31/2010.

Goals

Goal setting is always at the top of the list when taking on new challenges.  If you are tired of writing goals and somewhere along day three you start to fall off, Stephen Covey, author of  ”7 Habits of Highly Effective People”  has created The Community.  The Community is an online resource that allows to enter and track your goals all with keeping the core principles of the 7 Habits.  Once a member, you can set individual goals for fitness, spirit, heart, and mind to name a few.  Once your goal is set, you can input a date range for start and finish.  You even have the choice of sharing with friends, everyone in the community or keeping your goal private.

Organization: Are you suffering from CHAOS – Can’t Have Anyone Over Syndrome?  As the week progresses, you have a “situation” and by the end of the month it is an all out war!  Trust me, I have been there and it isn’t a good feeling.  Time flys and before you know it you are the hamster in a wheel and feel like you can’t break the cycle.  Enter in FlyLady.net !  This is a great site that will help you take baby steps to gaining control of clutter, and household duties.  Some of my favorites are the 27- Fling Boogie and the Weekly Home Blessing Hour.  A clear home yields a clear mind.

Stop Smoking: If one of your resolutions is to stop smoking, the American Cancer Society has a program, Quit for Life.  The program offers recommended steps and additional resources that can assist with the process.  As an added incentive, the American Cancer Society states that once your quit smoking, you can add eight years to your life.

Entrepreneur: If you are looking to transition from the 9-5 and become a business owner, here are seven essential start-up steps.  If you have a business and want to get the word out, don’t forget to check out our Fab Chick 2010 promotion!

I hope these tips help you become the best you in 2010!
