Fab Chick 2010 Melanie Martin – Mōksa Organics

30 March 2010 2 Comments

Organic hand made soap, body lotions, body oils and baths salts, oh my!  I met Melanie and Haskell Martin, owners of Mōksa Organics at the Go Green Expo in New York City.  The expo was great and Mōksa Organics made it spectacular!  Mōksa which means ” liberation of the soul” started with a conviction that a company  can really offer conscientious and truthful products at an affordable price.  All of Mōksa’s products are chemical free and organic.  There are no parabens or sulfates, no synthetics, no animal byproducts and no artificial preservatives or fragrances.

When many companies speak about being “green,” Mōksa delivers by:

  • eliminating  harmful chemicals
  • hand making all of their products which eliminate “outsourcing” and multiple middle men
  • using all soy based ink, which is non toxic and prevents ground contamination
  • packaging all of their products with 100% post consumer waste (tree free, and all of their body butters and body oils and bath salts are packed from 99% recycled glass)
  • offsetting their shipping by  partnering with the Carbonfund and purchasing wind and solar energy
  • donating  a portion of profits to a number of pro-active environmental groups and non-profit organizations

Mōksa really makes it easy to live an earth friendly lifestyle.  Besides sounding yummy, the Organic Key Lime Vanilla Body Butter is a nice light scent that soothes the skin and leaves a nice shimmer.  If you have dry skin, this is your product.

Mōksa’s mission to bring awareness to people that we truly can live an earth friendly lifestyle is accomplished.
