Fab Chick 2010 – Vanessa Chakour

Vanessa Chakour is a Brooklyn based visual artist, athlete and activist. Her proactive pursuit of freedom, both personal and social/internal and external is embodied in her art and in her everyday life. In her distinctive style of “Visual Verse,” every brush stroke is a string of words-a lyric or a poem, a stream of consciousness which gives each of her arresting images a powerful voice all its own.
